Daniel W.H. Newell, S.T.M., M.Sc. (MFT)
- Dan Newell has worked in the
counselling field since 1990.
- In 2000 he completed a M.Sc.
in Martial and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University and joined
Gary J. Meiers, Ph.D., C.Psych., and JoAnn Hammond Meiers, Ph.D.,
C.Psych as an Associate in December 2000.
- Dan is registered as Chartered
Psychologist in Alberta.
- He is a Clinical Member of the
American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAFMT).
- Dan has completed Levels I & II training in “Eye Movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing” (EMDR) from the EMDR
Institute.
- Dan works with Adults,
Adolescents, Children, Couples, Families and Organizations. He
has specialized in relationship counselling and is particularly
interested in a Marital and Family Systems approach to Counselling.
In a systems approach to counselling an effort is made to
understand people
in their context.
- Dan develops and presents
workshops for Couples Preparing for Marriage, for Couples interested
in improving their Communication, and for couples, families or
organizations interested in Conflict Management.
- He works with volunteer boards
to help develop organizational planning strategies and facilitates
organizational staff development retreats.
