Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a
recently developed method for doing
psychotherapy. Since its introduction, it is
estimated that half a million people of all ages have
found relief through its use with many different forms
of psychological distress. The EMDR method is a
form of Accelerated Information Processing which seems
to unblock the information processing systems of the
brain. This allows for more rapid recovery from
painful experiences by unblocking painful or traumatic
experiences and allowing for recovery, change, and
growth.
